No. To protect the delicate ecosystem and for visitor safety, swimming is strictly prohibited within the Tenorio Volcano National Park. However, our tubing tour is the perfect way to get in the water just outside the park boundaries!

The hike is considered moderate. The first half is relatively flat, but reaching the waterfall involves over 250 stairs. If you want to see the Teñideros, the trail can be muddy and uneven, so good hiking shoes are a must.

The best time is during the dry season (December to April). During heavy rains, the river can temporarily turn brown due to sediment. Our guides monitor the weather daily to give you the best advice.

A standard guided tour takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on your pace and how many photos you want to take! We take our time to ensure you see the wildlife and learn about the park.
